Goldtooth Creative takes up residence in Resident Evil™: Operation Raccoon City

Vancouver, B.C. – Goldtooth Creative brings its unique creative vision to Capcom Co. Ltd.’s storied Resident Evil™ game franchise with its terrifying take on Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City in the title’s first SPEC OPS Campaign gameplay trailer.

Utilizing gameplay footage mixed with live action film and motion graphics to create the sense of danger and chaos awaiting those who venture into troubled Raccoon City after the deadly Tyrant virus outbreak, Goldtooth Creative has once again demonstrated how it continues breaking new ground for major game developers from around the world.

Working with Capcom Japan and Vancouver’s Slant Six Games, Goldtooth director Pablo Gonzalez and the talented staff at Goldtooth Creative also produced 13 in-game full-motion videos (FMVs) for the action-oriented Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City by employing a mixed-media approach including CG, motion graphics and gameplay footage along with live action shots. Company vice-president Tyler Weiss handled audio production duties.

“The Resident Evil franchise is one of the most popular in the world, so the opportunity to work on content with such a rich history was a real honour and challenge,” said Gonzalez. “The game is dark, terrifying and generally beyond the scope of human experience. We felt uniquely suited to this environment and we thrived in a place where life hangs in the balance between so many opposing factions.”

Set in 1998, the game focuses on ill-fated Raccoon City and the horrific consequences of the outbreak, which originated at the local Umbrella Corp. facility and transformed most of the local populace into violent zombies. To cover up the outbreak, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy the evidence and eliminate any survivors. However, the U.S. government has ordered the city quarantined and deployed its own elite soldiers to investigate the source of the outbreak. As an Umbrella Security Services soldier, players will compete alone or as one of up to four players in a co-op campaign in a battle against all the forces at work in Raccoon City. The SPEC OPS Campaign, which will be digitally distributed and is featured in the trailer, allows players to assume the role of U.S. government special forces.
