Goldtooth Creative showcases "sharp dressed" Crysis® 3 for global TV audience

Vancouver’s unique boutique creative/production house, Goldtooth Creative Agency Inc., swaggers onto the screens of North American and European TV audiences  February 12 with a CG television trailer for the highly-anticipated sandbox shooter Crysis® 3.

The 30-second spot will be broadcast during the lead up to the game’s North American release on February 19. The trailer will be broadcast globally within a week of launch and also be featured online at www.ea.com.

Retained by San Francisco ad agency Cutwater, Goldtooth Creative handled direction and creative editorial duties, directed motion capture at Animatrik and animated all cameras and characters to be rendered using CryENGINE® 3. The robust engine was used for the lighting and environments featured in the high-resolution network spot.

Directed by Goldtooth’s Chief Creative Officer Kody Sabourin and produced by Goldtooth Creative for Cutwater and Electronic Arts (EA), the new trailer marks the progression of the studio’s creative collaboration with EA, which has included trailer work for EA Sport’s FIFA, Madden and Need for Speed franchises along with Fight Night 4. Goldtooth Creative Agency has also been recognized with several industry awards for its highly regarded work on numerous top AAA console titles from some of the world’s largest publishers and development studios.

“Working with the uber-talented teams at Crytek and Metric Minds was a real pleasure as we dove into the world of Crysis® 3,” said Sabourin. “Rendering and lighting the project with CryENGINE and CineBox was an amazing experience. I’ve never seen the look of a project come together so quickly. This is the future and it was exciting to be a part of it as we continue to develop new ways of using game engines to create content.

“This project had a very challenging timeline, where many partners and vendors came together from around the globe. Everybody was keen to collaborate because they all were excited about the creative while working with a ground-breaking production pipeline,” Sabourin said. “The Goldtooth crew worked closely with the team at Crytek and continued to build our long-standing relationship with EA while developing a new creative partnership with the talented team at Cutwater.”

Developed by award-winning Crytek and published by Electronic Arts, Crysis 3 lets players take on the role of ‘Prophet’ as he returns to New York only to discover that the city has been encased in a Nanodome created by the corrupt Cell Corporation. The New York City Liberty Dome is a veritable urban rainforest teaming with overgrown trees, dense swamplands and raging rivers. Within the Liberty Dome, seven distinct and treacherous environments become known as the 7 Wonders. This dangerous new world demands advanced weapons and tactics, including the Nanosuit. Equipped with superhuman powers including cloaking, armor and enhanced visor abilities, the Nanosuit is the ultimate tool that allows players to assess, adapt and attack whatever the 7 Wonders throws at them. In addition to the Nanosuit, players will wield the powerful Predator bow and devastating alien weaponry to become the deadliest hunter on the planet.

Goldtooth Creative's absence from season 2 of Mortal Kombat: Legacy noted

You might remember a while back a little project that Goldtooth Creative was heavily involved with by the name of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. Well, the web series turned out to be one of the most popular online shows of 2011 and led to director Kevin Tancharoen getting tapped by Warner Bros. to bring it to the big screen. Well, now comes news that there will be a second season as reported by our friends at Shogun Gamer, who also reported the official cast announcements.

While many of the faces from the original season are not returning, Shogun Gamer also lamented the absence of Goldtooth Creative. Here’s what Shogun contributor Ian Fisher had to say about Goldtooth’s absence this time around.

“Besides the cast shakeup that went down, some behind the camera changes have occurred such as production company Goldtooth Creative not returning. Responsible for creating the effects, music, and essentially shooting season 1 of the series, Goldtooth has been replaced by the Bandito Brothers – a small firm based out of L.A. who have done effects for films such as Act of Valor. Consider me a bit disappointed at the lack of more Goldtooth goodness since they did an amazing job with a modest budget and small time window; just watch the Cyrax & Sektor episode for proof.”

Thanks for the good word Ian! Goldtooth Creative was very proud to be involved with Mortal Kombat: Legacy and wishes Kevin and the whole crew the best for season 2!
